Arts On Air features the movers and shakers in the Faculty of Arts at the University of British Columbia. Our hosts interview students and faculty to uncover their stories and ideas.

The show airs every other Monday at 6:30PM on CiTR 101.9 FM. Theme song is “Grab a Bargain” by Scott Holmes.


Who we are

Co-host and co-producer: Brittany Duggan
brittany-duggan-1-photo-by-rachel-sandersBrittany Duggan is a second year graduate student at the UBC School of Journalism. She is a research assistant for the School’s social media lab, regular contributor and online editor for a national arts magazine and spent this past summer interning with CBC Radio and for the Georgia Straight. Originally from B.C., Brittany received her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from York University, and danced professionally in Toronto for over six years. Follow her @BrittanynDuggan.

Co-host and co-producer: Rachel Sanders
Rachel Sanders is a Vancouver-based journalist, editor and photographer. Her work has been broadcast on CBC Radio and has appeared in the pages of the Georgia Straight, the Toronto Star and the Victoria Times-Colonist. She is currently a graduate student at UBC’s School of Journalism where she is exploring stories about labour, education and the arts. Follow her @_RachelSanders.


Faculty Supervisor: Kathryn Gretsinger 

n-2i-yxfKathryn Gretsinger is the lead instructor in the School’s Integrated Journalism program. Her career in journalism began in the late 80s when she joined the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) Canada’s public broadcaster. Kathryn is committed to public service journalism and she has worked to develop her journalistic skills to reflect the technological change in the industry. She works across platforms, but her first love is audio.
