By 6:30pm, before the polls had even closed in BC, all major Canadian news networks were calling it a win for Liberal leader Justin Trudeau and the longest election in Canadian history came to an end.
To talk with Ira about the results of this historic campaign, the expectations Prime Minister Trudeau now faces and how anyone thinking about a career in politics should prepare themselves is UBC political science professor Max Cameron.
Cameron is also the Director of the Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions and coordinated the first UBC Summer Institute for Future Legislators. This organization brings together political experts to teach an intensive course in political preparedness for anyone aspiring to public office.
