This year marks UBC’s centenary and to look back on 100 years of university history Ira sat down with English Professor Herbert Rosengarten, author of UBC: The First 100 Years. Together they chart the school’s development from its inception back in 1908 and early relationship with McGill University, up to its most recent achievements.
Having taught at the university for over forty years, Professor Rosengarten has a strong connection to UBC and has watched its evolution. He has served as the Head of the English Department as well as the Executive Director of the President’s Office and is today a Professor Emeritus of English at UBC.
