The new UBC Minor in Asian Canadian and Asian Migration Studies (ACAM) is designed to recognize how Asian migration has played an influential role in shaping Canadian history, culture, and community.

At helm of this new program — which had its first class this school year — is Christopher Lee.  Lee is a former UBC student whose academic research has focused on Asian North American literature, culture and diaspora.

Ira got the chance to sit down with Lee to discuss the inspiration behind the creation of the new program. He talks about what it has to offer students, and how his own studies and lived experiences have informed his new role as ACAM director.
