Co-op not just for engineers

Co-operative education is not an option exclusive to students studying math and sciences.

Julie Walchli tells Ira Nadel that arts students in all disciplines can apply to the co-op program.

On Wednesday’s show, UBC Arts Co-op Director Julie Walchli explained how the interest in co-operative education has boomed in the faculty over the last 15 years.

There are plenty of benefits for enrolling in co-op, according to Walchli. Students unsure of what career paths they want to take and interested in gaining skills for the workforce can learn a lot from co-op placements, she said.
