To cap off another great season of UBC Arts On Air, Professor Ayesha Chaudhry joins Ira Nadel this week to discuss her recent book and much debated Globe and Mail column. Chaudhry specializes in Islamic studies, Islamic law and gender studies. Her book, Domestic Violence and the Islamic Tradition, investigates the transforming interpretation of a contentious verse in the Koran through history, particularly after the rise of feminism. Her column, which appeared in the Globe in February, was based on the findings of her book.
To hear about Chaudhry’s insightful research, tune in to UBC Arts On Air this Wednesday at 6 p.m. on CiTR 101.9 FM.
Old episodes of the show will run in its usual slot starting in June or can be found here on our website in the column to the right. A new season of UBC Arts On Air will begin in September.
